Daily work diaries kept by Patrick Chandler, an area maintenance engineer for the Transportation Department's District 9 (Sept. 1965-Aug. 1969) and District 5 (Aug. 1969-June 1982). Chandler comments on pending correspondence, records the substance of important telephone calls, describes visits to project sites, and discusses personnel matters. Also includes minutes of area maintenance engineers meetings, district staffing statistics and comments on weather. The photographs (1956-1961) document the construction of Interstate 694 and Highway 280 and the widening of West Broadway Avenue in Minneapolis.
